What image processing software do we use? PDF Print E-mail
We use Picasa2, Photoshop and PhotoGenetics.

For general quick fixes and resizing and cropping we tend to use Picasa2 available for free the Picasa web site on Google.  If you haven't used this software before give it a try - it is great for keeping tabs on all your photos.

For detailed image manipulation we use Photoshop.

For "difficult" pictures that are of a good subject but poor technical quality caused by haze, poor light or colour cast from tinted perspex windows, I sometimes use PhotoGenetics - it lets you evolve a photo by displaying modified version and saying if it looks better or worse than the previous iteration - the process is repeated until the image doesn't get better.  Unfortunately, PhotoGenetics was discontinued in 2002 but you can still find it for trial download  if you hunt around on the web.  Read more here.
